Our History

The soul of a 4-star hotel combining refinement and the art of living by the sea in Normandy.

Born in the year 2000, it was in April 2001 that we opened the doors of the Manoir de la Poterie to the public, revealing its 18 rooms with fruity names, inspired by the varieties of apples that bloom in the garden.

In 2005, a new chapter was written with the construction of the building which will soon house a SPA (June 2006), a suite, five rooms in a style sometimes Directoire, Marine or Contemporary and a seminar room (2007) largely open onto the park.

The manor takes its name from a forgotten past, that of the inhabitants of the village of Cricquebœuf who, in the 16th century, lived from pottery, a craft whose remains now lie dormant beneath the waves.

A peaceful village on the pretty Côte Fleurie, equidistant from its famous neighbors, Deauville and Honfleur, Cricquebœuf honors its Saxon origins: "Criach", the first inhabitant, and "ox" coming from budh, meaning shelter. Here, the countryside embraces the sea in a gentle and discreet harmony.

Perched on a former quarry that has now become a peaceful pond with silvery reflections, the church dedicated to Saint-Martin, accompanied by its flower-filled washhouse, carefully restored for over a century, creates a bucolic setting worthy of a true postcard.
